Här är en lista som jag sammanställde i maj 2009 när min flickvän (snart hustru) skulle komma till Sverige och hälsa på. Jag fixade allt jag kunde med förifyllda blanketter mm. och skickade dem per post till henne. Notera att blanketterna kräver redovisning angående hennes mor/far/syskon/barn men det är namn, födelesedatum och lite kort om relationen.
Hon använde listan och tog kontakt med call center mm. Man ansöker inte om visum till Sverige, man ansöker om en visum till Schengen som är så gott som alla länder i Europa.
Läs innantill, titta på blanketterna och använd huvud och sunt bondförnuft
. Det var inte ett enda frågetecken med nedan lista och det gick jättesmidigt för henne att få visumet. Vi hade inte bokag/köpt flygbiljett då det inte behövs.

1. Book time!
Book time at Swedish Embassy in Bangkok: 1900 222 202, they speak English or Thai and can also tell what kind of papers you need. It is open Monday to Friday, 08.00-19.00. MUST call them and get a time and date when you may go and apply for VISA/leave all papers.
2. Pay the VISA!
When go to Embassy the money MUST be paid and you need the reciept (paper saying that you paid). Can ONLY pay in a UOB bank in Bangkok, there is a UOB bank near the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok at "Two Pacific Place". Right now the cost is 2.900 Baht but maybe it is best to ask when you call how much the VISA cost so you put the right money into the bank. Money should be paid to account/bank number 095-2-05431-0 and the account name is "Embassy of Sweden".
3. Go to Swedish Embassy
You (GIRLFRIEND) need the following papers:
a. Copy of your (GIRLFRIEND) passport in THAI and a translation of the passport to ENGLISH.
b. Two (2) photos of yourself (GIRLFRIEN), size 45 mm x 35 mm
c. Copy of MEDICAL INSURANCE for the time you (GIRLFRIEND) will be in Sweden (3 months). See the document XXX for approved Insurance Companies, YOU (GIRLFRIEND) MUST go there and order and pay for the Insurance. This MUST be translated into ENGLISH. (Approved BANGKOK insurance companies:
