If you are refused to enter the States (from Europe)

I was wondering....You keep on hearing about how difficult it might be to enter the states if you have a criminal record or whatever. I been to the states several times and never really had any trouble besides a lot of questioning and whatever, no bad problems and my experience is that it usually works out if you are polite and can answer the questions in a proper way...... But I'm curios, what happens if you are denied? I assume they want you to go home asap but do you have to pay that ticket yourself? And what happens the hours before you are send back? Do they keep you in holding cell or what? I'm just curios and interested if anyone could share any information or stories about how this work?

Thanks

I can't answer what happens if you are denied but if you think you might run into trouble then travel to mexico and cross the border by car or MC.

I had a "friend" (not a very close one) that was denied, she was a former au pair going back to visit, but i think they thought she came back to work and she was not allowed to enter, i think they took her to spend the night somewhere, where i dont know, and then she was put on the first plane home the next day.

What are you seriously talking about? Do you think it is an open border between Mexico and USA?

To OP if a entry to the United States is denied for whatever reason they will detain you until you board a return flight.
