Hi, im planning to be a jerk to people cheating the public transportation system and make a solution for catching cheaters without the need of ticket inspectors. Therefore I got a couple of questions to make a survey regarding this topic.
"Do you always carry your phone with you when travelling on public transportations?"
"Do you agree that the terms of riding publicly will be that you expose your phones ip address while entering the vehicle, in other words; they can see where you are?"
Designing cheat-free public transportation tickets.
The intention of this idea is to eliminate public transportations ticket inspectors and therefore save a lot of money. Designing and installing physical sensors in trains, busses etcetera that can read your phones Ip-address, whilst inside the transportation mean, which then connects to whether you have a ticket or not. Everyone has a phone these days and the only way to cheat this solution would be to enter without a phone.
The project targets people who cheat the current ticket system as well as the companies behind the public transportation. The idea stems from myself being a ticket cheater in my earlier years and still today seeing the same problem shows that the current ticket system is outdated in a more digitalized world.
This design project aims to make it easier for both commuters and transportation companies to have a secure service / reciprocal service when it comes to transportation. Ethical problems that can occur will be whether scanning your phones IP address or not will be approved. Having this in regard the transportation companies could use a demand on an app while traveling with their vehicles. when downloading this application, the user must agree on exposing their IP, but only when inside the transportation mean. If the sensor registers a phone without the app the driver can locate this person and throw them of or the IP will be sent to the police for a fine.
I want to enable public transportation owners to have a secure service / reciprocal service regarding payment.
